TEHRAN – Reformist MP Masoud Pezeshkian has said that demagogues win political competitions unless public awareness is raised, Tabnak said in a report on its website.

He said that public ignorance could not be resolved as long as people are not aware of the authority of president and MPs to fulfill their pledges.

Pezeshkian added that only awareness and knowledge could save the country, citing martyr Morteza Motahhari’s aphorism, “Without science and awareness, faith is a lightless engine.”
